The panorama of the 6th session of Vietnam –South Korea MC on S&T
Implementing the Agreement in the 5th session of Vietnam – South Korea Mixed Committee (MC) on Science and Technology, on November 1, 2011, the 6th session of Vietnam – South Korea MC was organized in Hanoi Capital. Mr. Mai Ha –Director of the Department of International Cooperation, MOST and Mr. Seong Geun Bae –Director of the Department of InternationalCooperation, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, South Korea co-chaired the session.

The 6th session of Vietnam – South Korea MC took place in the cooperative, friendship and mutual understanding atmosphere. In the session, the two parties have reviewed S&T cooperative activities since the 5th session and been satisfied that friendship relationships and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea are strengthened, developed and bring in practical results.

Delivering a speech in the Session, Mr. Mai Hà expressed that Vietnam has currently been active in promoting international integration in S&T and Vietnam has desired to promote more Vietnam – South Korea bilateral cooperation in S&T, especially in fields of S&T management, biology technology, advanced material technology, health – pharmacy technology, information and communication technology, new energy,…

The two parties focused on exchanging thorough ideas on the fields and highly agreed on directions and measures in order to strengthen cooperation between the two countries for the coming time. The two parties agreed to promote the development of a joint cooperation program for the coming time in order to support bilateral studies. With that spirit, the two parties agreed to promote cooperationamong institutes with the belief that the cooperation would bring in benefits of S&T development for the two parties such as organizing the Workshop on Green Chemistry twice a year betweenSouth Korea’s Institute of Industrial Chemistry and Techniques and Vietnam Chemistry Association; cooperation in the study on common environment for Vietnam’s costal lines using the remote sensing technology between South Korean’s Oceanographical Research and Development Institute and Vietnam’s S&T Institute; cooperation to strengthen Vietnam’s S&T management capacities between South Korea’s Research Funds and Vietnam S&T Development Funds.

To conclude the Session, Mr. Mai Hà –Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Mr. Seong Geun Bae, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, South Korea’s the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology together signed the Agreement Minute of the session. According to the Agreement, the 7th session of Vietnam – South Korea MC will be organized in South Korea in 2013.
