Rosatom supported training on human resource and promoting the project on Center for Nuclear Science and Technology in Vietnam

On March 30, 2012 in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyễn Quân had a meeting and working session with General Director of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Sergei V.Kirienko.
Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Lê Đình Tiến, Director of Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission Vương Hữu Tấn, Director of Department of International Cooperation Mai Hà, Deputy Director of Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear (VARANS) Safety Đặng Thanh Lương.
In the working session, the two parties agreed on the promotion of establishing the Center for Nuclear S&T in Vietnam and soon putting this Center into operation.
Mr. Sergei V.Kirienko expressed his pleasure with cooperation of the two countries in the field of training for nuclear power human resource. He emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries in the training field has been expanded more and more, not only Vietnamese students studying in Russia with long-term programs but also post-graduate students, supervisors and managers in nuclear field starting to go there to study.
Minister Nguyễn Quân expressed his sincere thanks and highly appreciated Rosatom’s support to Vietnam so far, especially in big projects in atomic energy field.
The Minister said MOST also proposed the Deputy Minister to soon announce preferential policies for those working in the Center for Nuclear S&T in order to attract excellent people to participate in human resource training program on nuclear power. Vietnam hoped to have enough human resource to send to the Federal Russia and study and learn in this field.
Minister also expressed his desire that Rosatom would support VARANS in developing legal and regulatory documents relating to nuclear power projects as well as developing nuclear power in Vietnam
