On May 2, 2012, H.E.Nguyen Quan, Minister of Science and Technology has handed the Appointment Decision to Prof.Dr. Vuong Huu Tan, former President of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), as the Director General of the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS).
Mr. Vuong Huu Tan was born in 1957, graduated PhD in Nuclear Physics at the Kiev University, Ukraine in 1989, served as VINATOM President from 2001 to 2012. Prof.Dr. Vuong Huu Tan has been involved in teaching, scientific research, guiding Master and Ph.D thesis, and has many scientific publications.
At the ceremony, Minister Quan thanked Mr.Vuong Huu Tan for his contribution on development of VN atomic energy field and wish him, on the new position, to try his best to fulfill his task.
At the same time, Minister Nguyen Quan has also handed the Appointment Decision to Dr. Tran Chi Thanh, former Deputy Director of Consulting Centre for Thermal and Nuclear Power and Environment (Energy Institute, Ministry of Industry and Trade) as the President of VINATOM.
