Recently, in Hanoi, Ministry of Science and Technology organized the Ceremony to announce Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18. Participating in the Ceremony were Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, Deputy Minister Vũ Đức Đam, former Vice President Nguyễn Thị Bình, former Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm, together with many Vietnamese scientists and leaders of some ministries, branches, localities and enterprises.
The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) launched a showroom displaying mock-ups of nuclear equipment in Hanoi on June 4, aiming to help the public understand the importance of nuclear power plant projects and boost consensus about the work.
Vo Van Thuong, permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, hosted a reception on May 30 for a delegation from the Vientiane Science and Technology Department of Laos.

On May 27th, 2014, in Hanoi, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan had a meeting with Ms. Wanda Collins - Chairman of the Board of Management and Leadership of International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) who was visiting and working in Vietnam.
On 17.5.2014, Ministry of Science and Technology held the Awarding Ceremony of the first Ta Quang Buu prize; awarded the Party and State rewards to scientists, managers for their contribution to the country's scientific and technological development; and organized the dialogue with scientists. From 26 to 30 May 2014, Vietnam Agency for radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) in collaboration with the European Commission (EC) organized the Workshop on Technical assistance for further development of the legal framework for nuclear safety in Vietnam. Dr. Dang Thanh Luong – Deputy Director General of VARANS came to attend and address the opening speech.
Within framework of the 23rd ASEAN Summit and the relevant Summits in Brunei from 9 to 10 October 2013, at 9h15, 10 October 2013 today, authorized by H.E. Following the successful genome sequencing of 36 lines of native Vietnamese rice, the second phase of a joint Vietnam-United Kingdom project to characterise the genetic diversity of these 36 varieties of rice was launched recently in Hanoi.
Ten years after the conversion from a research institute model to a scientific technological (S&T) enterprise, the revenue of the Institute of Machinery and Equipment Industry (IMI) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has increased by 8.5 times while its profits have risen 9.4 times. This is a prime example of a successful S&T enterprise, underlining the correctness of the conversion policy.
On March 13, 2013 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Trần Việt Thanh had a meeting with Mr. Dae Hee Yoon, former Minister of Policy Coordination of South Korean Government, who led the South Korean delegation to pay a visit and have working sessions to Vietnam within the framework of the Knowledge Sharing Project with South Korea.
