On March 09, 2011, Director General of Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) Ngo Quy Viet has welcomed and worked with Mr. Jeffrey Hilsgen, Director of Asia-Pacific Region of U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Mrs. July, the U.S Embassy.
The purpose of the visit of Mr. Jeffrey Hilsgen is to introduce about the representative offices in Asia Pacific region of CPSC in Beijing, China, summarize some new laws and initiatives which have been taken out by CPSC.
At the meeting, Director General Ngo Quy Viet highly appreciated the cooperation and support of the CPSC in recent years as well as the results achieved since the MoU signed in December 2007 and expressed his wishes that the CPSC will continue to support STAMEQ and recognize the Quality Assurance and Testing Centre 1 (QUATEST 1, in Hanoi) and Quality Assurance and Testing Centre 2 (QUATEST 2, in Da Nang) as the next Third Party Testing Laboratories of CPSC.
On this occasion, representatives of relevant Units under STAMEQ gave some proposals to CPSC as further strengthening to provide detailed information on quality warnings, advising on equipment for rapid testing of products and goods circulated on the market, enhancing training for experts in Vietnam, especially the direct training...
