Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards (Vifotec) 2010 have been granted to for 41 works with 3 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 16 third prizes and 13 consolation prizes in various fields as engineering automation; energy saving and new energy usage; information, electronics and remote sensing; environmental protection and reasonable usage of natural resources; biology for production and daily life; material technology.
Three works awarded the first prize were "Study on improving the technology of pilot manufacturing high-quality water supply equipment for hemodialysis machines" of a group of 6 authors chaired by Master Trịnh Ngọc Diệu; "Study on manufacturing hepatotrope Boganic from Vietnamese herbals" of Master Nguyễn Huy Văn and collaborators and "Study on manufacturing and applying nano carbon pipe materials" of Professor, Doctor Phan Hồng Khôi and collaborators. This work has also been awarded with WIPO 2010 for the most outstanding work. This is the first time a successfully study on equipment and technology for manufacturing nano carbon pipe has been carried out on a large scale, contributing to reduce product prices.
In addition, the World Intellectual Organization also presented awards for the most outstanding enterprises in applying intellectual property systems in production and daily life for Ha Long Viglacera Joint Stock Company; for Master Vũ Thị Thuận – the most female outstanding innovator; for engineer Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Ngà – Vietnam’s youngest innovator.
On this occasion the Prime Minister also granted certificates of merits for 11 individuals who were chairmen and co-chairmen of works awarded with high prizes, granted certificates of merits for Vietnam Fund for supporting Technique Innovation and 2 individuals who had outstanding achievements in organization, communication and popularization of the awards.
Through 16-year organization, Vifotec awards have received 1,0776 works, in which 538 S&T works have been awarded. The awarded works have had good reputation, contributing to encourage S&T research and innovation campaign among scientific and technical staff and to meet urgent requirements of the current situation and affirm significant talents and innovation of scientists.
